  Everyone says the Shawarma in Ottawa is a must try. I tried one other place and it was seriously not that great, so I didn't get the hype until I came here! This place was packed on a Sunday night for dinner. Lots of people eating in, getting takeout, and also delivery.
  
  I got the Shawarma sandwich and my friends shared the Shawarma plate cause it was massive!! The price for the plate seemed more expensive than in Toronto but after considering the size, it made sense. Everything tasted great. I particularly liked the garlic sauce they used which really made the Shawarma extra good.
  
  Will definitely be back!

  This was our first stop after a long drive from Vermont to Ottowa. We wanted a quick lunch that would not weigh us down for the day. My mother and son had chicken shawarma sandwiches,  my daughter had a falafel sandwich,  and I had a beef shawarma sandwich.
  The place does not look fancy. The bathroom, to quote my daughter,  "was like something out of a horror movie." But the food? Absolutely delightful! The friendly guy at the counter was happy to customize our sandwiches according to our desires, and we all enjoyed our food mightily.  A fun treat to end the meal? We split a couple of pieces of baklava between us. Just lovely.
  So - though the atmosphere might leave something to be desired,  the food was worth the visit!

  Shawarma palace is the most popular shawarma place in Ottawa and it's not hard to see why. The quality and the quantity of this place is absurd. You do pay a tad more than an average place in the GTA, but the quality here is really special and you can share one plate! Finishing it is another story, but the two of us came in famished and left in a food coma.
  
  We went with the mixed chicken and beef plate, and couldn't believe how high the plate was at the end. The guy behind the counter skillfully carved and slices the meat off the rotisserie, the speed he also put things on the plate was almost like a show.
  
  Every single component of the plate was done well. The meat was tender, the potatoes were crisp and garlicky. There was plenty of both delicious hummus and garlic sauce. The rice was done perfectly and the salad was crisp. We same them make and top off the counters multiple times. To top it off, there's some good pickled vegetables. It's a very comprehensive plate and they don't cut corners here.

  Ottawa is not only the capital of Canada , but probably the capital of shawarma!  There are so many great shawarma spots in the city but none more famous or better then Shawarma Palace.
  .
  Thinly hand cuts slabs of meat, stacked and slow roasted on a rotating spit is oh so good!  The main shawarma stick weighs up to 250 lbs but is so amazingly tender and flavourful and accompanying condiments sooooo good and fresh!  
  
  Everything we had from the shawarma, kabobs, falafels and fish was fantastic.  Portions are massive so I suggest you order one platter per person to start or you'll be packing them home.
  
  Full 5/5 for an amazing Middle Eastern gem!

  I did not expect this place to be this good.
  
  Our group of three ordered a plate of mixed shawarma. Was in awe of the size of the plate; absolute unit. It fed us all. Also really enjoyed the juicy chicken. Really good bang for your buck overall.
  
  I appreciate the staff here; they are very friendly, efficient, and listen to any customer requests. The environment is nothing spectacular, but at least it is kept clean.
  
  My friends love this place, so I'll probably be coming here again.
